Teens for Christ Presents: Fight the New Drug @ Brown Grand Theatre
Aug 17 @ 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm

It may be surprising, but porn affects the brain in ways very similar to harmful substances, like tobacco. Studies have shown that porn stimulates the same areas of the brain as addictive drugs, making the brain release the same chemicals. And just like drugs, porn triggers pathways in the brain that cause craving, leading users back for more and more extreme “hits” to get high. Many people are accepting of a form of modern-day slavery: human sex trafficking. And while many people claim to be opposed to human sex trafficking, what many don’t know is that the demand for human sex trafficking is fueled by pornography and the porn industry.

Fight the New Drug is a non-religious and non-legislative organization that exists to provide individuals the opportunity to make an informed decision regarding pornography by raising awareness on its harmful effects using only science, facts, and personal accounts. This programing content will be appropriate for Teenagers 6-12th grade. Parents please use your discretion about bringing younger students. We will also be presenting an afternoon session for parents, teachers, and youth workers at 3:00pm at the Brown Grand Theatre.

Teens for Christ programs are always free to the public. Doors will open at 6:30pm and we will take up a free will offering to help cover the cost for the evening.

North Central Kansas Teens for Christ Presents: “Run the Race”
Reeling from his mother’s death and his father’s abandonment, Zach, an All-State athlete, finds glory on the football field, working to earn a college scholarship and the brothers’ ticket out of town. When a devastating injury puts Zach- and his dreams- on the sidelines. David laces up his track cleats to salvage their future and point Zach toward hope. Two desperate brothers sacrifice today for a better tomorrow. An extraordinary evening of entertainment and praise for all ages.
